If you’re shopping for a caregiver, you might want to think about the VA’s caregiver rebate program.VA caregiver reimbursement is free for qualifying VA caregivers enrolled in eligible VA programs, which include:VA programs that provide in-home care and/or nursing careVA programs for adults with disabilitiesVeterans Affairs medical centersVA health care and nursing facilitiesVeterans with chronic medical conditionsVeterans eligible for Veterans Choice or Veterans Health Administration benefitsVeterans who have experienced sexual abuse or traumaVeterans under the age of 65 who receive disability compensation or disability benefits, and eligible Veterans who have been involuntarily discharged from the military or the military National GuardVeterans in the military who receive medical or surgical care or services, and VA-approved veterans who are eligibleVeterans enrolled in the VA-affiliated nursing home program, as well as eligible veterans who have a dependent child, or who are Veterans in the National Guard, or eligible veterans on active duty, are eligible to receive VA caregivers reimbursement.VA HealthCare and Nursing HomesVeterans are eligible for VA-accredited VA healthcare and nursing home programs.
