“Sleeper is the name of the game,” Jennifer Lawrence told reporters on Wednesday.
The actress, who stars in the Disney animated series “SLEEPING BEAUTY,” was speaking during a discussion of rape culture at the National Women’s Conference.
“Rape culture is not a joke,” she said, adding, “If you are going to do it, you need to be accountable.”
The outspoken actress is the latest Hollywood star to speak out against rape culture.
“I am a rape survivor, and I don’t see why anyone would ever feel that it’s okay to rape women,” she told ABC News.
In January, actress Angelina Jolie wrote a letter to President Donald Trump, calling for him to use his bully pulpit to end the “silence on this epidemic.”
“It’s been a long, long time since rape has been talked about openly in Hollywood,” she wrote.
“In the face of all this, it is imperative that we take action to end this epidemic.
The silence of the survivors is deafening and we must all speak up.”
